16.6% Growth Nobody Is Talking About

The US loyalty management market hit $22.3 billion in 2025. It is projected to reach $44.25 billion by 2030. That is 16.6% compound annual growth.

What Most Operators Miss

83% of loyalty program owners report positive ROI. But the distribution of that ROI is wildly uneven. Top performers deliver 8x more revenue than average programs. The gap is not in the points. It is in the redemption architecture.

Travel sits at the centre of high-perceived-value redemption. A $500 hotel stay costs the program less than $500 to fulfil but delivers $500 of perceived value to the member. That arbitrage is the engine.

The Commercial Implication

Programs that control their own travel redemption infrastructure capture the spread. Programs that outsource it to OTAs or aggregators give away the margin and the data.

Tiered loyalty programs increase retention by 25-30% according to the National Retail Federation. But tiers only work when the rewards feel proportional. Travel is the only category that scales perceived value without scaling cost linearly.

What Smart Operators Should Do

Audit your redemption cost per point across categories. If travel is not your highest perceived-value-to-cost ratio, your travel infrastructure is wrong. The 16.6% growth rate means the market is moving. The question is whether you are capturing it or funding someone else's growth.
